Glen N. Pierson has been named interim county superintendent of schools effective Jan. 1, replacing Tom Boysen, who has resigned to become state commissioner of education for Kentucky. Pierson, now assistant superintendent for personnel, will oversee the San Diego County Office of Education until the county school board names a permanent replacement for Boysen, probably next spring. The office provides a variety of educational services for school districts.
