Writing Awards: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is scheduled to present the Don and Gee Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting today to five writers chosen from among 2,888 entrants. The winners--David Gordon, Robert Gregory-Browne, Kent Rizley, Thomas C. Smith and Wanda Warner--will each receive $20,000 intended to help them complete scripts based on synopses submitted for the competition.
