LOCAL : Pileup Snarls Artesia Freeway
A tractor-trailer driver lost control of his big rig on the Artesia Freeway this morning, slamming into a center divider and causing a four-car pileup that injured one man and triggered a SigAlert during the morning commute, the California Highway Patrol said today.
The extent of the injuries and the name of the injured driver were not immediately known, said CHP Officer Angel Johnson. The injured man was treated at the scene of the 7:30 a.m. crash by Los Angeles County paramedics.
“We’re still working on the scene,” Johnson said earlier in the day about the collision that occurred on the Artesia Freeway near Orangethorpe Avenue.
The accident tied traffic up on both sides of the freeway, Johnson said. The SigAlert was canceled about 11:30 a.m.
