Donald L. Mehlig of Rolling Hills is the new president of the American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters and Chartered Financial Consultants. The society is composed of 34,500 professional insurance agents and brokers who have completed a series of 10 college-level examinations and who satisfy certain experience and ethical requirements of the society. Mehlig co-founded the Cal-Surance Group in Torrance, and is president of Cal-Surance Benefit Plans, an employee benefit firm.
