Haven Mechanical Inc. in Van Nuys and Tucon Development Co. in Sepulveda have been ordered by a U.S. District Court judge in Los Angeles to pay employees for overtime earned over the past three years.
Haven, a plumbing contractor, agreed Nov. 4 to pay $35,000 in overtime wages to 118 employees for work on projects between May, 1987, and August, 1989, said Tino Serrano, spokesman for the U.S. Department of Labor, which filed the suits. Tucon, a hotel developer, was ordered Oct. 8 to pay $105,000 to 39 employees for overtime work on a Compton hotel and convention center project since June, 1987, he said.
Neither company admitted liability in agreeing to the judgments, Serrano said.
