Share

A free handbook containing tips to help troubled families cope during the holidays is available from the Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center of Orange County.

Incidents of child abuse and family violence increase during the holidays, when children are home from school and parents are faced with extra stress that accompanies the season, according to center statistics.

The 80-page booklet, entitled “Healing the Heart of the Family: Practical Parenting Concepts,” provides tips on how to improve parenting skills, prevent child abuse and reduce family tension. A list of helpful organizations and agencies is also included.
