Nine cities applied to hold the qualifying draw for the 1994 World Cup, and the deadline to enter the selection process ended with 32 cities expressing interest.
The World Cup ’94 Organizing Committee said cities bidding were Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Dallas; Honolulu; Houston; Kansas City, Mo.; New York (jointly with New Haven, Conn); Orlando, Fla. (jointly with Kissimmee, Fla., and St. Cloud, Fla.), and Phoenix.
The city for the qualifying draw, tentatively scheduled for Dec. 14, 1991, will be selected by April 1.
