Frequent-Flier Bonuses: Trans World Airlines Inc. sued a former Tustin travel agent, George Lemikis of GL Travel, alleging that he defrauded the airline’s frequent flier bonus program out of millions of dollars over six years and amassed 20 million miles in flight credits by having airline tickets issued to fictitious passengers. The suit contends that in some instances “the actual tickets were returned for refunds, while the boarding passes were submitted to TWA for the purpose of posting mileage” to the phony accounts. The suit seeks an injunction stopping Lemikis from carrying on the alleged fraud and damages exceeding $1 million. (Case No. 90-6550. Filed Dec. 12, 1990).
