FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Ann Galas Is New School Board Head

In its annual organizational meeting, the Fountain Valley School District board selected Ann Galas as its president.
Galas, a homemaker, has been on the board since 1983.
Michael Novak, an engineer who has been on the board for two years, was selected president pro tem.
New board members Larry Crandall, selected as clerk, Robert Sedlak, the clerk pro tem, and Barbara Vogel were seated. Crandall, Sedlak and Vogel, who defeated three incumbents in November, were actually sworn in on Friday to comply with state election laws. Otherwise, the district would have been without a board of trustees for several days, district spokeswoman Cheryl Norton said.
