Larisa Savitska plunged to Earth from an Aeroflot plane after it collided in midair with a military aircraft.
The Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper said she was the only survivor when the AN-24 airliner and a military transport collided near the Chinese border in 1981. The incident had been kept secret.
