OJAI : Coroner Identifies Homicide Victim
The strangulation victim whose body was found Monday north of Ojai was identified by the Ventura County coroner’s office Wednesday as Najat Chehade, 26, of North Hollywood.
Deputy Coroner Dale Zentzis said his office confirmed the victim’s identity, initially established through a fingerprint check, after contacting her mother, Peggy Chehade of Riverside. The woman’s body apparently was dumped late Sunday onto an embankment off California 33. An autopsy determined that she was strangled with a cord.
