If clowning around for a worthy cause seems like fun, check out the Timbo & Freckles Christmas Show on Saturday at the Ventura High School auditorium.

“It’s a real goofy show,” performer Tim Lewis said. He and his trick dog Freckles, a Chihuahua, will be accompanied by magician Clark James and Teddy the Clown.

“The whole program is musically scored,” Lewis said, “and features numerous clown and magic effects.”

Two performances will be held, and proceeds will benefit the Make a Wish Foundation, which grants terminally ill children a wish of their choice.

Timbo & Freckles have participated in numerous international circus programs and have recently returned from South America after touring with a Moscow-based circus.

Santa Claus and an elf will also be on hand to entertain participants.

“We’ll make them suddenly disappear,” Lewis said. Santa and helper will reappear in another location of the auditorium, he said.

“The kids really enjoy the show; it’s a fully participatory circus,” he said.

Show times are 1 and 3:30 p.m. Face painting and Santa Claus photo opportunities will follow each show.

Tickets are $3 in advance or $6, $4 for children, the day of show. The school is at 2155 E. Main St.
