Kings rookie Frank Breault, who injured his right knee Dec. 13, will miss the rest of the season following major reconstructive knee surgery, the team said today.

The surgery performed by team physician Dr. Steve Lombardo on Wednesday at Centinela Hospital Medical Center repaired and reconstructed the interior cruciate ligament in Breault’s right knee, the Kings said.

Breault, injured in a game against the Calgary Flames, should be ready for the start of training camp next year, Lombardo said.
