Sahara Club and Desert Environmentalists

Thank you for presenting the article on the Sahara Club (Metro, Dec. 12). We need organizations and individuals to oppose the current wave of extreme environmania that is sweeping the nation and threatening our economy.

I do not own a motorcycle and I am not at all interested in cross-country racing. My interest in the desert involves hiking, camping, backpacking, and, where permitted, target shooting. Nonetheless, I am fed up with the shrill propaganda of many environmentalists who constantly predict the end of our planet.

I can assure you that there is a vast reservoir of citizens out here who do not want their lives controlled by environmental extremists and who are becoming very suspicious of the environmentalist agenda.
