DiMarco Appointment Is Good Omen

Share

As a lifelong Democrat who was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Fullerton Elementary School District three times, I did not support Sen. Pete Wilson in his campaign for governor. However, since he was an English major at Yale, he almost got my wife’s vote.

I commend Sen. Wilson for his appointment of Maureen DiMarco as his cabinet-level education adviser. She is the most intelligent, articulate and incisive person in the education business in the state of California. President Bush could do worse than to appoint her as his Secretary of Education.

If this appointment is any indication of the way in which the new Administration will be run, there is hope for California.
