WHERE IS MR. SMITH?
Fantasize all you want about your perfect political candidates, but please don’t prevail upon these 10 fine, creative leaders to run for Congress (“Where is Mr. Smith Now That We Need Him?” by Ronald Brownstein and Nina J. Easton, Nov. 11).

The price is too high for most original thinkers. Let them keep encouraging us but only from the sidelines.
