KEVIN COSTNER

Kevin Costner is that rare example of someone in Hollywood who uses talent, initiative and power for all the right purposes (“Confidence Man,” by Elaine Dutka, Nov. 4). His artistic work excels. He uses his charm to forward projects that really do make a difference.

He and his wife, Cindy, prove that family values and community concerns can co-exist within the struggles of the film industry. They both contribute a great deal to organizations in their community (including the Pasadena Playhouse), both in time and support. Costner is a silver-screen star and director to cheer for, and for all the right reasons.
