Military Pets

Share

Thank you for bringing to the public’s attention the appalling treatment and attitude toward their pets by U.S. service personnel deployed in the Middle East and their families (Part A, Dec. 12).

Working for the military opens up the possibility of displacement and family separation. Adopting a pet requires a commitment that may conflict with this possibility. Shortsightedness and denial on the part of those military individuals who are now dumping pets on local animal shelters are inhumane and unethical.
