A lone man wearing a Raiders cap escaped with an undetermined amount of money Monday afternoon from a Wells Fargo Bank branch at 24251 Rockfield Blvd., Sheriff’s Department Lt. Richard J. Olson reported.
The robbery took place at 12:52 p.m. in the midst of heavy Christmas Eve traffic in the commercial area near the bank.
Olson described the robber as Latino, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, with black hair. Olson said witnesses particularly remembered the Raiders cap the robber wore.
The robber “entered the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money,” Olson said. He “was given some money and then left the bank on foot. No (escape) vehicle was seen or heard, and no weapon was ever seen. As is usual, the FBI will investigate the case.”
