Share

Golden West College’s honor society has awarded more than $1,000 in scholarships to 12 students for their accomplishments during the fall semester.

The college’s Sigma Pi chapter of Alpha Gamma Sigma, a statewide community college honor society, hands out the awards each semester to its top students in recognition of their academic achievements and community service work.

The honors club has been involved in organizing a book sale to benefit the college’s child care center, sending holiday cards to U.S. troops deployed in the Persian Gulf, helping run a rodeo sponsored by the Huntington Beach Rotary Club and coordinating a Halloween presentation at the Westminster Mall.
