“This We Believe” is the title of a special Sunday service at Orange Coast Unitarian Universalist Church at 10:30 a.m. The program will be coordinated by parishioners Mickey Jackson and Betty Guthrie. Members will share their personal philosophies through statements, music and poetry.

The Center for Spiritual Development has scheduled a weekend workshop, “Spirituality for Compulsive People,” Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. through Jan. 20 at 1 p.m. Father Tom Weston will be the featured speaker.

Rabbi Irwin Groner, president of the Rabbinical Assembly, has announced the appointment of Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson to the Commission on Jewish Renewal.

“I am convinced that the creativity and ideas that will emanate from this commission will help set an agenda of renewed vitality for our entire movement,” Rabbi Groner said.

A pen-pal project between North American and Soviet Christians has been launched by ASSIST (Aid to Special Saints in Strategic Times).

The project, called “The Russian Connection,” was announced by ASSIST founder and international director Dan Wooding, a British journalist.

Those who request a pen pal will receive a copy of a letter with the the English translation, plus a list of other literature in the Russian language.
