SIMI VALLEY : Reopening of Road Depends on Weather

One of the two main routes between Simi Valley and Chatsworth, Santa Susana Pass Road, is expected to reopen by late February if the weather remains dry, an engineer on the project said.

A half-mile stretch of the road between Redmesa Drive and just south of the Santa Susana railroad tunnel in Los Angeles County has been closed since the second week in December.

Construction crews are installing a new intersection and traffic signal at Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Santa Susana Pass Road and need dry weather to lay the pavement, Senior Civil Engineer Chuck Jack said.

The $900,000 project, being paid for by a local developer, also includes a storm drain and a debris catch.
