World IN BRIEF : SOUTH KOREA : Ex-President Chun to End Seclusion

Disgraced former President Chun Doo Hwan plans to come out of two years of seclusion and return to Seoul, his aides said. Chun will end his self-imposed internal exile at a remote temple and return to his home Sunday, a spokesman said. Chun abandoned Seoul on Nov. 23, 1988, after apologizing to the nation for abuses during his eight-year rule. Last week, President Roh Tae Woo, one of Chun’s military academy classmates, told reporters that he wanted his predecessor to come out of seclusion and lead a normal life.
