ROOTS: John Seymour, California’s newest U.S. senator (A1), made his fortune and got his political start in Anaheim real estate. As a rookie real estate salesman in 1964, Seymour complained about how the Anaheim Board of Realtors was being run and “soon he was president of the board,” a colleague recalls. . . . In 1973 Seymour became president of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, in 1974 a City Council member and in 1980 president of the California Assn. of Realtors--launching pad for his successful 1982 state Senate campaign.
