Andrew Dice Clay says his foul-mouthed comedy act is like a tour of mental illness--and that’s why he keeps packing the arenas.

“Anybody that’s ever been in a relationship of any kind can relate to what I do,” Clay said in January’s issue of Spin magazine. “I don’t talk about the great things in a relationship. I talk about the downers. My act is like a guided tour through mental illness.”

His act has been attacked as promoting violence against women and Nazi-like reactions from audiences, and 20th Century Fox pulled the plug on Clay’s concert film, a subject that still raises his hackles.

“Hollywood puts out movies with people being dismembered and heads being ripped off, but they don’t want to make people laugh,” he said.
