SANTA ANA : Driver Crashes Into Freeway Divider
A Temple City man was critically injured when his car slammed into the center divider of the Costa Mesa Freeway near MacArthur Boulevard on Wednesday evening, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.
Arnak Punlertpathanakon, 34, was driving his 1981 Daihatsu northbound at about 60 m.p.h. at 7:50 p.m. when he started to exit the freeway at MacArthur Boulevard and swerved to avoid another vehicle, CHP Officer Angel Johnson said. His car then traveled across the freeway and hit the divider, she said.
Punlertpathanakon, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana,where he was listed in critical condition Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
