South Pasadena : Light-Rail Station OKd
A proposal by the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission to build a light-rail station at the corner of Mission Street and Meridian Avenue was approved by the City Council on Wednesday.
The council voted 5 to 0 to endorse the county’s selection of the site but also voiced concerns that a light-rail station in the Mission West business district would have to include off-street parking.
Councilman Dick Richards warned that street parking in the district is already scarce. Any further reductions could “totally obliterate a business section of this community,” he said.
