Shooting Victim Found by Bridge
A 46-year-old man who was shot twice in the upper abdomen spent a night under a bridge in Rancho San Diego, authorities reported Sunday.
According to Sgt. Roy Stamper of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, a wounded James Fellerman managed to crawl out from beneath the old California 94 bridge over the Sweetwater River bed Sunday afternoon. He was spotted by a passerby, who summoned authorities. The victim was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Mercy Hospital.
Fellerman, whose car was found parked at a fast-food restaurant a short distance from the bridge, was listed in satisfactory condition Sunday night after undergoing surgery. Authorities were waiting to question him further.
