California IN BRIEF : VISALIA : Session Set on Aid to Freeze Victims

Officials from government and relief agencies will meet today to seek ways to help Tulare County residents whose incomes were lost when the pre-Christmas freeze wiped out the orange crop. Tulare County sustained the worst crop losses of any county in the state, $286 million. That left orange growers with bleak prospects for income from this year’s crop and thousands of harvest and packing house workers without jobs.
