Parents have a lot to worry about. Kids get hurt, they get into trouble and sometimes they even get lost. For parents interested in being better prepared to avoid possible tragedy, KADY-TV and Jones Intercable will be presenting Child Safety Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their offices at 663 and 721 Maulhardt Ave., Oxnard.

The day will be filled with musical entertainment and includes canine unit demonstrations by Oxnard police officers and panel discussions on how to protect your child from handgun accidents.

Also offered free of charge is videotaped identification for all children. “When a child is missing, it sometimes is a problem coming up with a picture to identify the child,” said Ron Vandor, executive producer of KADY. “Video provides a more recognizable view of your child,” he added. Vandor said parents will be provided with free fingerprinting kits as well as videocassettes for the taping of their children.
