COLLEGE BASKETBALL WOMEN’S ROUNDUP : UCLA Holds Off Arizona, 115-102

Rehema Stephens scored 25 points, Natalie Williams 23 and Nicole Anderson 22 as UCLA defeated Arizona, 115-102, in women’s basketball Sunday at Tucson.

The victory completed a road sweep of the Arizona schools for the Bruins. On Friday, UCLA defeated Arizona State, 81-68.

The Bruins (7-6 overall, 2-1 in the Pacific 10 Conference) led, 79-53, with 13:58 remaining in the game, but the Wildcats rallied to cut the deficit to 107-102 with 2:25 left.

The Bruins were perfect on four free throws in the final 1:21 to secure the victory.

Arizona (5-12, 0-4) was led by Timi Brown, who scored 20 points. The most points the Bruins have ever scored in a game is 125. They defeated Oregon State, 125-35, in 1976 and Utah State, 125-62, in 1977.

USC 84, Arizona State 67--Freshman Lisa Leslie had 20 points and eight rebounds in 18 minutes to lead the host Trojans to their sixth consecutive victory.

Molly Keenan had 17 points, Tammy Story added 15 and Joni Easterly had 14 for the Trojans (9-4, 3-0).

Lisa Salsman had 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Sun Devils (10-4, 1-3).
