* Although Marisela is expecting her first baby in April, the popular singer says she has no intention of sidelining her career to only chant lullabies. In an interview with Nuestro Tiempo, Marisela said she has already scheduled a tour of Mexico in July and is eager to finish work on her first all-English L.P., which she hopes will launch her in the “cross-over” market. Los Angeles-born Marisela began singing in Spanish as a teen-ager. Following the footsteps of her father (mariachi performer Daniel Esqueda), she decided to make music her career. Marisela’s latest BMG album is entitled “Hablemos claro” (“Let’s Talk Clearly”).

Juan Ramon’s leading-man good looks complement an excellent voice, as his latest CBS album “Por haberte amado tanto” (“For Having Loved You So”) can attest. Last year his debut CBS album, “Amante Aventurero” spawned several hits, placing him in the top of the music charts. Born in Valencia, Spain, and now a Miami resident, the singer recently was given a reception at La Masia restaurant in West Hollywood. His previous honors have included the prestigious “International Singer of the Year” award from the North American Critics Assn. After meeting the artist and hearing his album, one of the guests was overheard saying, “Julio Iglesias, move over. Juan Ramon is on his way!” A California tour is planned for the very near future.

A change of pace for Raul Julia. The Puerto Rican actor, who recently co-starred in “Havana,” is usually acclaimed for his dramatic characterizations. But he will next play Gomez opposite Anjelica Huston’s Morticia in the upcoming movie version of the 1960s ghoulish sitcom “The Addams Family.”
