Showing the Way: A special version of the current single from the band Styx, “Show Me the Way,” has become the gulf war anthem on radio stations around the country. It started a few weeks ago when Ray Edwards, a deejay at WOKI-FM in Knoxville, Tenn., who has a brother stationed in the war zone, thought the song spoke to the feelings shared by people facing the crisis. He made a mix editing in comments from soldiers and callers and it became the most requested song on the station. In Washington, WAVA-FM picked up the version, and added snips of congressional debate to the mix. Pirate Radio (100.3-FM) in Los Angeles played the song for the first time Thursday and the phones went crazy with requests for more, a publicist said.
