Sprinter Ben Johnson will be the undisputed star of tonight’s Sunkist Invitational Indoor track meet at the Sports Arena.

Johnson placed second last week in his first race after a two-year drug suspension. He ran 50 meters in 5.77 seconds at a meet in Hamilton, Canada, losing to American Daron Council, who won in 5.75. Also in that race was Andre Cason, who will race against Johnson again tonight. Cason led the Hamilton race for 30 meters after getting off to a tremendous start.

The men’s 880 features Kenyan Paul Ereng, the Olympic champion at 800 meters, and American veteran Stanley Redwine. The men’s mile features Nourredine Morceli of Algeria, who was the fastest miler in the world last year. With him in the field are Americans Steve Scott and Jeff Atkinson.
