5 Adults and 2 Boys Arrested in Drug Bust
Five men and two 14-year-olds were arrested during a crackdown on drug dealers in the unincorporated Lennox area and the Vermont district, authorities said Friday.
Seven undercover narcotics deputies posed as buyers of the drug during the seven-hour operation, which ended Friday at 1 a.m.
Plainclothes deputies drove through residential streets looking for people selling drugs. When deputies completed a buy, they would drive away and signal uniformed deputies to move in and make arrests, Deputy Roger Hom said.
Five men ranging in age from 22 to 35 and two 14-year-old boys were arrested and booked on suspicion of selling cocaine. The adults were held in lieu of $20,000 each. The juveniles were released to their parents. A small amount of rock cocaine was seized as evidence.
