Operation Rescue Under Fire

The fanatical acts of those involved in Operation Rescue do little to promote credence in Christianity. As a man who was at his wife’s bedside through a terminal illness, I am almost speechless with disgust at the sheer arrogance of those involved. The additional suffering that was inflicted on Joe and Joyce Cruzan was unconscionable.

Those who would prefer to have life end in a more civilized manner, in the event that life-support equipment would only serve to artificially postpone the moment of death, do have a choice.

A living will and durable power of attorney for health care, valid in the individual’s state of residence, is the best protection available against such outrageous indignities.
