Canada’s Carey Nelson remained undefeated as a marathoner with his second victory, and Britain’s Veronique Marot became the first three-time winner in the wind-buffeted Houston Marathon.
Nelson recorded a personal record time of 2 hours 12 minutes 28 seconds in winds of 15 m.p.h.
Marot, the 1986 and 1989 Houston winner, took the lead for good during the 17th mile and finished with a time of 2:30:55.0.
