Raymond T. Wood; Certified Public Accountant

Raymond T. Wood, who practiced corporate accounting in Glendale for about 40 years, has died at a Burbank hospital. He was 63.

A longtime resident of La Canada Flintridge, Wood died Saturday of cancer, said his wife, Martha Wood.

Born in Portland, Ore., Wood came to California as a child and graduated from Belmont High School in Los Angeles. He served in the Navy during World War II. In the early 1950s he opened an accounting office in Glendale, specializing in corporate accounts. In 1988, Wood moved his business to Montrose, where he practiced until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years; son Brandon Wood of La Crescenta; daughter Sharon Wood of San Francisco; brother Vernon Wood of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; and one grandson.

Visitation is planned from 5 to 8:30 tonight and Thursday at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Mortuary, 10621 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood, which is handling the arrangements. A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the mortuary, with burial to follow at Valhalla Memorial Park. Donations may be made in Wood’s name to the American Cancer Society.
