Disney Sues Film Companies: Walt Disney Co. filed a copyright infringement suit against Transatlantic Video Inc. and ATI Mark V. Products Inc. for copyright infringement for distributing videocassettes that feature Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The federal lawsuit said the defendants’ video, “The Mad Doctor and Minnie’s Yoo Hoo,” is an exact copy of part of a cartoon by Disney called “Mickey’s Follies.” The suit said the defendants are violating the Donald Duck patent with a video called “The Spirit of ’43.” (Case 91-0429.
