What they’re saying is that since we’ve declared war, why are we talking about peace? Given what I know about radio executives, they always seem to be out of touch with the average listener or viewer.

I find people are not as offended as executives think they are. There’s going to be vocal opposition to anything you do. From what I’m seeing from my listeners, it’s about 50% “we should be at war,” and 50% “we shouldn’t be.”

Every soldier over there being interviewed is saying, “Either get out or get this thing over with, because I’m sick of this, I’m scared.” And that’s not the way warlike macho men talked 25 years ago.

People are more honest, more demanding of their voices being heard. So to ban those records shuts off whatever interpretation you have. Some people think peace is bombing this guy into oblivion. Some people think peace is stopping the war.
