Debating U.S. Involvement in Gulf Conflict
I believe those who oppose what the U.S. and its allies are doing in the Persian Gulf War on the basis that “peace” is always the moral high ground are very wrong. It is not the moral high ground to watch the rape and murder of a friend and do nothing about it. It is also not the intellectual high ground to let evil grow unchecked because, unfortunately, evil does not respect peacefulness or even reason. The victims of the rapist will simply grow in number and his crimes will become even more heinous until someone has the courage to forcefully put a stop to it, as dangerous and distasteful as that job might be.
