Philip Morris Cos.: The New York-based maker of consumer packaged goods said its fourth-quarter earnings rose 2% to $880 million, compared to the year-ago period. Revenue increased 29.7% to $14.2 billion. For the full year, earnings rose 20.2% to $3.5 billion and revenue was up 16% to $51.2 billion. The firm cited market expansion, new products offered by its Kraft General Foods unit and the continued success of its cigarette businesses. Philip Morris produces such brands as Marlboro, Benson & Hedges and Virginia Slims.
