Nugget for Carl’s: Carl Karcher Enterprises has won the Honeywell Gold Nugget National Energy Conservation Award for accomplishments at its 580 Carl’s Jr. restaurants.
Over the years, the Anaheim-based company has made its lighting more efficient and installed energy-management systems. Air conditioning and refrigeration alone are 26% more efficient.
Previous recipients have included McDonald’s Corp., Marriott Corp., Pacific Gas & Electric and Indiana Bell Telephone Co.
