Compton : Veteran Compton Schools Administrator Is Promoted
Kenneth D. Flood, veteran administrator in the Compton Unified School District, has been named associate superintendent for the district’s business and administrative services. The Board of Trustees approved the appointment at a recent meeting.
Flood, 50, came to Compton in 1983 from the Los Angeles Unified School District, where he began his education career as a high school teacher and, later, moved into administration.
In Compton, Flood is credited with setting up the district’s computer information network, which he manages. For the past eight months, he also has been in charge of facilities and grounds.
Flood received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration and education from Pepperdine University. He holds state credentials in elementary and secondary education, as well as credentials in general administration and general pupil personnel services.
