Anthony J. Pistone; Retired Lighting Director

Anthony J. Pistone, a retired television lighting director, has died at an Arcadia hospital. He was 66.
A resident of Newhall, Pistone died Tuesday of complications of a recent heart attack, his wife, Maxine Pistone, said.
Born in New York City, Pistone came to California in the mid-1940s and entered the entertainment industry as an electrician. In the mid-’60s, he became a lighting director and worked on several television shows, including “Falcon Crest” and “Remington Steele.” A member of Studio Electrical Lighting Technicians Local 728, Pistone retired in 1988.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years; daughters Louise Mitchell of Redlands and Toni Pistone of Ventura; stepsons Al Orefice of Valencia, Angelo Orefice of Castaic and Keith Orefice of Val Verde; stepdaughter Rena Ann McCann of Burbank; one brother; four sisters; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Visitation is planned from 5 to 9 tonight at Eternal Valley Mortuary, 23287 N. Sierra Highway in Newhall, which is handling the arrangements. A funeral is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be private. Donations can be made in Pistone’s name to the American Heart Assn.
