Older, Graying, Balding and Sexy

In this era of conservationism, I find it preposterous that Calendar would fritter away perfectly good paper and ink by printing and disseminating in millions of copies the arrogant inanities found in letter writer Tania Plemiannikov’s “review” of “The Russia House” (Jan. 20).

You want to know who’s sexy and who isn’t? Ask Tania. You need uncontrovertible proof that a pretty, younger woman can never find an older, graying, balding man attractive? Why, ask Tania. You have to fill a few starring roles in your next film? Fire your entire casting staff and ask Tania, of course.

As to her comment that “much of what was trying to pass for Moscow” in “The Russia House” actually was the town of Zagorsk--does it comes as news, even to “an ethnic Russian new to this country,” that movies are a masquerade? Besides, Tania dorogaya , when did you last try to set up a daytime shoot on Kutuzovsky Prospekt?
