Glendale to Permit Roof Satellite Dishes

Share

The Glendale City Council this week approved an ordinance revision that will allow homeowners to place satellite dish antennas on their rooftops.

The revision requires residents to get approval from the city’s design review board before installing the antennas. It also requires residents to screen the dishes from view.

Under the old law, rooftop antennas were prohibited and those installed on the ground had to be screened.

The revision requires some screening and a building permit, but not design board approval for dishes placed in back yards. Antennas smaller than three feet in diameter are exempt from the revised ordinance.
