Northwest Airlines Cancels Surcharge: The carrier said it was considering cuts in its flight schedule because it was forced to rescind a $7.50 ticket surcharge planned for today. Northwest canceled the surcharge, intended to cover higher fuel and security costs, when the rest of the airline industry failed to go along.
