Duarte : Sports Park Fees Revised
Youth groups with many non-residents as members will no longer have to pay full price to use the city’s sports park.
The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved changes in the fees charged to groups with non-resident members.
Previously, groups with less than 51% resident membership paid the full price, $12.50 an hour. Under the new policy, the city will waive a percentage of the fee equal to the percentage of Duarte residents. For example, if a group has 40% residents, it will receive a 40% discount on the full-price fee.
Youth sports groups with 51% or more Duarte resident membership will continue to play free.
