Alice Vansteenberghe, 82, a World War II Resistance fighter who testified at the 1987 trial of Nazi Gestapo chief Klaus Barbie. Ms. Vansteenberghe, who was confined to a wheelchair, said Barbie tortured her and broke her back after her arrest in 1944. She said she recognized Barbie’s irregularly shaped earlobe, which she had memorized while she was being tortured. In Lyon, France, on Saturday of unreported causes.
